We had a great time during our candy buy-back this year. We collected lots of candy and made a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Teambuilding Event

Earlier this month, the OA staff did a teambuilding event at the Devon Boathouse downtown where we raced dragonboats down the Oklahoma River. We had a great time participating in a little "friendly competition". Check out our pics from the race.

Every year, the OA staff gets together to take office photos for our school calendar. It's always fun to think of new, original ideas for our photos (dressing as pirates, playing on a playground, bringing props to show our favorite hobbies, etc.) The theme of the 2011-2012 calendar is "Hollywood Smiles", so we thought it would be fun to dress as some of our favorite movie stars! Do Pets Look Like Their Owners?

We've always heard that pets sometimes resemble their owners. But, it wasn't until our most recent contest that we realized exactly how true that statement could be. Our new summer contest asks our patients to use clues to match up pictures of our staff members with pictures of their pets. But, you can almost figure it out just by looking at the pictures! Check out a few examples and see if you could guess which owners matched which pets. And play our summer contest game at your next appointment. Good luck!

An OA Murder Mystery

This past weekend, the Orthodontic Associates staff traveled to Guthrie, OK to take part in a murder mystery dinner at the Stone Lion Inn.
The dinner took place in 1948, so we got all decked out in 40s clothing. Since our office is predominantly made of women, some of us took on male characters for the night.
We had a great time! And none of us were murdered! :)

Snow, snow..... And More Snow.

Well, Oklahoma weather seems to have struck again... This time by way of crazy, history-making snowstorms. If you're stuck inside again this week, here's a fun video to watch to pass the time.
First, some background. At our office, having your braces taken off is cause for MAJOR celebration. After they are removed, our patients not only receive a goodie bag filled with all the things they weren't allowed to eat while in treatment (beef jerky, bubble gum, chocolate candy, blow pops, our DE-LISH molar mix, etc.) but also get serenaded by our staff with their own "deband song".
One day this past summer right before a deband celebration, inspiration hit for two of our staff - Alonzo and Mark.
"You know what this deband song needs? More cowbell."
